Landing a sponsorship deal is no longer about just being good at a game, you need to bring something extremely unique to the table to make you and your team standout. Don’t get me wrong playing at a high level certainly helps but brands are more interested in marketability.

Every brand has different sponsorship criteria but the majority look for these five traits:

Brands look to sponsor gamers who are outgoing, approachable, and intelligent. You must be able and willing to promote your sponsors products as if they are your own.

Maintaining a high level of maturity is extremely important to sponsors. They look to sponsor gamers who are calm, cool, collected. and promote good sportsmanship.

Brands aren’t looking to sponsor slackers. They look for those who are hard working and persistent.

Winning a tournament or having a popular YouTube video is great, but brands are more interested in how often you accomplish that level of success. Being consistent ensures the brand that you will be a valuable asset, by providing them with constant exposure, and views.

Loyalty and trust are the basis of any relationship. Brands look for gamers who will stand by their products and company vision.

Think you have what it takes? Create an account, complete your profile and apply for sponsorships. If you are denied for sponsorship, be sure to sign up as a brand insider as it’s the best way to keep in touch with brands for exclusive info and deals.
